Field Based Store Development Manager

Working for one of Northern Ireland's top companies within convenience and grocery, this award winning organisation is currently recruiting for a Field Based Store Development Manager to support the growth and development of the full portfolio of the company’s several high profile brands.

Working in partnership with Store Managers, Franchise Owners and Proprietors the Field Based Store Development Manager will play a key role in supporting the Business Development Team to achieve agreed budgeted sales and margin, whilst properly controlling costs and building & maintaining employee relations. It will be the responsibility of the Store Development Manager to implement procedures, processes and ensure that independent retailers and staff are trained to operate their store in the most profitable way.

Through a combination of managing sales performance, effective control and leading & developing the store team, the Store Development Manager will offer consultative / strategic advice and guidance to improve operational effectiveness and drive excellence in-store standards, service and availability. You will work alongside retailers helping them to develop their in-store execution as well as implementing actions to deliver operational improvements within agreed budgets and timelines. You will also support the introduction of new stores coming into the group, facilitating a smooth orientation, supporting store management and employees to ensure that the implementation of standards, new processes and procedures are set-up accurately and efficiently. You will carry out promotional and short audits on a quarterly basis, agreeing actions from your findings. You will monitor and implement company auditing systems to ensure maximum gross profits are achieved. You will report on findings and ensure corrective action is taken when necessary.

Additionally the Store Development Manager will coordinate, facilitate and support any number of new projects and ensure that the store delivers first class customer service and all-round operational excellence.

You will need to have previous retail management experience within the convenience/grocery sector including managing profit and loss, maximising financial performance and delivering service excellence. You'll inspire the teams you manage and work with by leading, coaching and developing them to achieve outstanding results through being passionate, innovative and supportive. You will thrive in a role that is challenging and demanding - achieving targets for business growth, increased sales, operating standards and staff performance. You'll be commercially aware with a strong focus on continuous improvement along with the ability to successfully implement projects in accordance with time-scales. You will have excellent communication and influencing skills both upward and downward with the ability to interact effectively at all levels in sharing knowledge, experience and best practices.
