Our Client is in need of an RGN who is flexible and someone who enjoys working in a service that puts the client at the centre of what he/she does.


Job Purpose

Deliver and supervise high standards of care whilst maintaining independence and choice in a homely environment which promotes excellent customer relationships ensuring the smooth running of the Nursing Home in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company.


Qualifications, Training and Experience

·         Registered Nurse with NMC
·         Excellent communications skill
·         Experience in general and people management
·         Ability to motivate and communicate effectively at all levels


Principal Accountabilities and Activities

·         Act in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct.
·         Devise, write and review effective care plans for residents paying particular attention to communicating information about residents to other members of staff especially as shifts change.
·         Keep strict control of and be responsible for the administration of drugs in accordance with drugs policy in your area. Be responsible for the correct ordering procedure of drugs and other supplies.
·         Lead, manage and motivate staff of varying skill levels.
·         Liaise regularly with appropriate medical practitioners ensuring appropriate care and monitoring of resident's condition.
·         Supervises the professional work of care assistants and to help deploy staff in relation to duties to be covered.
·         Assist in the development of the individual staff member thus enhancing improved standards of care.
·         To ensure day to day running of the care aspects of the home is in accordance with management policies, quality systems and to ensure compliance with statutory and the Care Standards Act 2000
·         Participate in the induction, training, and motivation of staff as necessary.
·         To assist in the maintenance of a Safe and Healthy Working Environment by ensuring adherence to TCL Health & Safety and Welfare policies and procedures.
·         To implement a staff rota that ensures the safety and well being of both staff and service users.
·         To manage staff sickness and absence ensuring the shifts are covered at all times
·         To attend meetings and reviews when requested within reason of given shift pattern
·         To maintain own education ensuring that you are fully updated with the NMC and carry a valid PIN number
·         Deal with and refer to senior management any breach of conduct my an employee
·         Duty to inform manager if NMC commence investigation into practice
·         Carry out appraisals of staff and identify training needs to meet IIP programme.
·         Duty to whistle blow if bad practice or harm to a resident is witnessed
