Senior Care Assistant

Our client based in Illford is looking for Senior Care Support Workers in their residential home
Purpose of the job:

To support and assist the Service Manager in the effective day to day operational
management of the service, ensuring high quality, cost effective services.
To work with the Service Manager in promoting high standards of practice conductive to meeting the social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the service users.
To supervise, and oversee the work of, Care Workers, reporting any staff management issues to the Service Manager.
To work as part of the team in meeting all aspects of care, and the individual needs of each service user.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Offer care based upon high values for people in daily practice, e.g. choice, privacy,
individuality, dignity, etc. Including high levels of personal care according to a service
user’s care plan.

Plan in a sensitive manner as well as helping individuals to make decisions about
their own lives by working within the guidelines of Frances Taylor Foundation [FTF]
person centred planning policy and the principles of the Mental Capacity Act.

Promote the service user’s life skills and support the individual to explore the daily
functions of ordinary living, therefore enhancing the service user’s confidence and

Administer prescribed medication as detailed in care plans, and following policy
guidelines. To be responsible for the ordering of prescriptions and checking the
delivery of medication received.
