Site Officer

JOB293 | Part Time

Location: Hampshire | United Kingdom

Salary: 25000-30000 / Year

We are looking for Site Officer for TEMP WORK.

Generic Responsibilities:
  • To carry out all responsibilities with regard to the Council’s Equalities Policy and Procedures and Customer Care Policy.
  • To comply with all Health & Safety at work requirements as laid down by the employer.
  • The council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment

1. General caretaking tasks –
a. Opening and closing of the building and overall security of the site including locking of all
windows and doors and ensuring the building is safe and secure at all times
b. Preparing for centre activities, cleaning and (where applicable) cleaning up after activities
c. Laying out and stacking of chairs, tables, stage equipment, etc.
d. Taking delivery of goods and storing them (including cleaning equipment where appropriate).
e. Replenishment of soap, toilet tissue and paper towels
f. Ensuring that Gladstone Park Community Centre’s premises and furnishings are cleaned
in accordance with the appropriate standards and methods. Drawing the attention of the
Centre Manager to any problems relating to cleaning and the centre grounds / environment.
g. Ensuring that the inside area in use conform to the Safety at Work Act 1974, and the Fire
Regulations.
h. Assistance with cleaning in the absence of cleaning staff.
i. Carrying out procedures in the event of fire, flood, breaking and entering, accident or
major damage.
j. Enforcing the centre rules of no chewing gum, smoking or dogs permitted on the grounds
k. Minor repairs and maintenance at the premises
l. Carrying out duties as to maintain a good working atmosphere and team spirit.
m. Maintaining good time keeping and submitting time sheets in a timely manner.
n. Participate in maintaining the Investors in People Standard
o. Attending to such duties relating to the premises as these may occur from time to time
and carrying out the reasonable instructions of the Centre Manager within the terms of the caretaker’s job description
2. Outside Duties (Including 4G pitches, tennis courts and cricket practice areas) –
a. To ensure that the grounds of the centre are free from litter and accumulations.
b. Emptying of litter bins, disposal of all rubbish and cleaning of bin area.
c. Ensuring hirers arrive and leave areas in a timely and prompt manner.
d. Enforcement of appropriate and suitable footwear is worn on 4G pitches
e. Ensuring goals, tennis nets, etc. are setup and cleared away.
3. Other Duties –
a. Carry out routine procedures and inspections of ancillary equipment, i.e., pumps, batteries, window blinds, etc. Ensure that caretaking and cleaning equipment is in safe and proper
working condition.
b. Directing workmen and contractors to the sites of repairs and maintenance work.
c. To be on the emergency callout rota
d. Provide access to the building and its utilities in the event of an emergency, at the request of the proper authorities.
