Clerical Assistant

Location: Hampshire | United Kingdom

Salary: 15000 - 18000 / Year

We are seeking for a Clerical Assistant for TEMP WORK in the New Forest District Council.

Job Purpose:
To be responsible for providing clerical functions of the Town Council’s Administration Department and
to be the first point of contact for telephone and personal enquires.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Undertake clerical duties relating to all service, functions and activities of the Council
•    Preparatory work, filing, research and general enquiries.
•    Providing general support and assistance with the finance functions of the Council including processing orders and accounts; checking requisitions; banking and petty cash issues; making entries in the financial registers, payroll and bookings.
•    Assisting at outside events as required.
•    Dealing in person, by phone, fax and email with enquiries from the general public.
•    Undertake postal duties.
•    To use skills with a variety of equipment/machines including computers; word processing; emailing; scanners; telephones and any new technology introduced by the Council which may involve expanding or improving areas of operations.
•    To have an understanding of the implications of non-adherence to the Council’s Health & safety procedures & risk assessments
•    To carry out such other reasonable duties as and when assigned including clerical and other ancillary work at any other reasonable location whenever requested.
