Clinical Lead /Deputy Manager

Salary: 29,000-32,000 / Year

To deputise for the Manager as required, acting as a point of contact for external agencies and family members in the absence of the Manager

To delegate, monitor and evaluate the performance of members of the team on an ongoing basis ensuring tasks are allocated fairly and in accordance with the knowledge and skills of each team member

  To ensure daily tasks are allocated appropriately

To lead and supervise shifts as required by the Registered Manager

To ensure more junior staff are aware of their responsibilities and that they are able to work in a safe and efficient manner – providing training and coaching as necessary to enhance the skills of others in the team

Consistently uses a good standard of verbal and written communication

  Responsible for the proper record keeping of petty cash and clients cash and personal monies

Adopting a problem solving approach and motivating staff as necessary

Appropriately communicates with service-users at all times and in line with Care and Support plan
Has proven inter-personal skills both with staff team and the Service leadership team

To provide a homely, safe, therapeutic and rehabilitative environment for service users in accordance with company policy and encouraging service users to partake in such tasks

To support the personal development of each service user, ensuring that they are treated as an individual with their own unique support needs

To advocate service-user choice, wellbeing, dignity and protection at all times

To support the team to understand any clinical needs the service-user has.

 A requirement of the role will include possible exposure to physical and verbal challenging behaviour from service-users.

 To report immediately to the Registered Manager any incidence, suspicion or concern about service users’ health and safety, wellbeing or any matter pertaining to the safeguarding of any service user

 To be confident reacting to changes in priorities and unexpected events and allocate resources accordingly

To support individuals with their personal care and hygiene needs such as dressing, bathing, and continence care and room management

To maintain service user care and rehabilitation in accordance to recommendations, guidelines and support plans from Clinical Services Team (psychiatry, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and sessional therapists)

To support the promotion of the health and wellbeing of service users, encourage a healthy and active life. To support all daytime activities including education occupation, therapies, other activities and social occasions

To pro-actively plan and take part in CPA Reviews.

Arrive on time and only leaves shifts when duties are handed over appropriately

To support service users with budget including accessing their benefits and entitlement and planning their finances

Has experience working with vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health issues (or equivalent transferrable skills)

 Has experience of the registration inspection process and the implementation of the Care Standards Act

Has experience as a people manager in line with Company Procedures and confidentiality

 Has experience in staff supervision and team management

 Completes all mandatory training on time, including Induction training

 Preferably has successfully completed NVQ Level 4 in Adult Social Care (or equivalent) and is working towards the Manager Award

 Has a flexible, thoughtful approach. Is able to make decisions and follow own judgement where needed

 Achieves all Health & Safety standards

 To support service users to ensure that their physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs are met.
